I am super excited to say that progress has been going pretty good considering all the rain we have gotten here in northern Florida lately. The Hardee board stuff (probably spelled wrong, lol) is now complete on 2 sides of the building and the front is almost done. Here are some pics of both sides so you can see that it now looks like a building. Not sure what color I am painting the building yet but that will come later. Since this is all new to me I don't know how much more work is involved but I imagine within 1 and 1/2 months the building should be complete inside and out. I hope its sooner than later but I think that is wishful thinking. If anyone has any good organization tips I am going to need them so please share. Hope everyone has a creative day!

The progress on my art studio is astounding
My art studio has come a long way in such a short time( you can see from previous photos), the windows are in, the house wrap is on and the roof is going on today, in fact my contractor has been out there since about 7AM this morning working on it. I have ordered the A/C unit that will go in the wall and it also has heat in it for those winter months that do believe it or not get cold here in northern, FL. You would never know that by the 90+ degree summer heat but I have been through winters where it was in the single digits outside so I felt heat was a necessity.
I chose to have only 2 windows on one side of the building so I can install cabinets if I decide to but the other that faces west has 4 big windows for lots of natural light. I will be installing 3 ceiling fans with light fixtures and I am thinking some lights over my work surfaces as well. Although I am still figuring out exactly where I want everything. The wall in the last photo of this post is where I think I will have a closet with shelves running the full length, which is 16 feet wide. That would give me a ton of storage. I am going to have to make up my mind shortly because this is going faster than expected and its really hard to believe that all of this work that was done in such a short time was done by ONLY one man. Needless to say I found an awesome contractor and believe me I tell him that everyday. LOL Stay tuned for more pics.

I was on Crescendoh Blog
Once or twice a year I like to Google my name just to see what comes up. Of course it's tons of things because I have been online since 1998 and quite active the whole time. Yesterday I decided to Google my name again and found an article I had written for the Crescendoh blog which is run by Jenny Doh.
I remember working on the article but had no idea they published it, so I thought I would share it with you. Hope you enjoy reading it! http://blog.crescendoh.com/readers_share/2013/03/still-going-strong-by-ilysa-ginsburg.html

My guest post for Cousin Corporation
I was really excited a few months ago when I was asked by Cousin Corp. to be a guest blogger for them on their blog. I love their products so it was easy to say yes but then I had to figure out what to write. I realized I had been making jewelry for most of my life, in fact for over 43 years. That is an astoundingly long time when you think about it. Clearly jewelry making is a passion of mine and one that has stuck with me over time as has polymer clay for the last 24 years. I love what I do and will probably always create jewelry of some sort or another. I have a book coming out this Sept. with F & W Media with my business partner Kira. This is another dream I get to cross off my list! Woo hoo. So exciting and a pinch yourself moment for sure.
Anyway I hope you will check out the article for Cousin Corp and make sure to leave a comment letting me know what you think. Have a nice Memorial Day, hope you are spending the day with friends and family. http://www.cousin.com/blog/13-05-03/Ilysa_Ginsburg_s_Advice_on_Jewelry_Making.aspx
Another dream coming true this year is my new art studio! All 4 walls are up now, so exciting.

I am super duper excited to see my new art studio going up from scratch, this is a whole new experience and I have never been through this process before. I am documenting it every step of the way so I can share it with you. I can't wait to move in! I am really looking forward to having my own creative space where I can keep everything organized. Here are some pics so you can see the progress so far. The framing kit just arrived this morning so before you know it the frame will be up. Woo hoo!!!

Building my new art studio to organize all of my arts and crafts
I am so super excited to share the progress of my new art studio. For years I have wanted to have my studio outside of my house, I live on 5 acres so there is plenty of room. A few years back I actually had started to build one that fell through because the people did bad work and I did not go through with building it but I did not let that stop me and here I am getting the process done right this time. My studio will be 16 feet wide and 40 feet long. Right now I am working in a 10 X 12 room so this will be amazing! So I plan to share the progress of my studio with all my friends through this blog. I will be sharing this experience from start to finish with you so check back to see the progress. Here are some pics from day 1 & 2 of the process.
